With dedicated teams for Rail, Civils and Construction based at our central site office in the Calvert area, and an extensive array of modern plant and equipment on site, we have the capability and experience to assist with all aspects of the HS2 Project.

With a strong background in Arboriculture and Forestry, we are very well known for our site clearance and vegetation management services, and as one of the main enabling works contractors we have delivered a large part of the Phase One Enabling works on the HS2 Project.

We install complete compounds (example shown suitable for 60 people), set up within 4 weeks from time of initial scoping to sign off.

Our compounds come complete with access haul road, track matting, signage, internet, security guards, a cleaner, power & water supply and ongoing maintenance. Most importantly they are most competitively priced and they achieve the highest sign-off score.

We have been supplying the Fusion JV with a ‘one stop shop’ of enabling civils works, from design, procurement and construction through to handover and maintenance.

We can handle the entire construction process to get you from greenfield to a fully operational base - all whilst ensuring the best practicable means to minimise the impact on the local community and environment.

COOMBES are RISQS accredited and Principal Contractor License (PCL) holders. As a tier-one supplier to Network Rail and other major contractors, we have extensive experience in providing on and off-track construction and civils services to the rail industry.

Our On-Track Plant (RRV’s), civils plant and in house transportation division enables us to provide an enhanced ‘one stop shop’ service to our clients and gives us the ability to respond rapidly to urgent demands / emergency call-outs.

Operating under our On-Track Plant Operations Scheme (POS) License, we can also provide full possession support and possession support staff to assist with the management of your project.

Our growing fleet of modern heavy lift, long-reach RRV’s, along with a range of attachments, is available for hire under our own POS Licence to Main Contractors.

We will work alongside your team, to assist with possession planning, meeting attendance, ALO & lift planning and any required surveys and access arrangements.

We are fully approved to carry out work on Network Rail infrastructure, and offer a range of POS management services.

COOMBES provide a wide range of GIS mapping and analysis services for project planning and the main delivery of works. With survey-grade GPS receivers and mobile devices, our site engineers are able to collect measurements, notes, and pictures in real-time.

Clients can log in and view their sites using a multi-layered, interactive dataset, which also assists project managers in planning and provides accurate live progress reports. This system enables us to give our clients visibility to all aspects of the site, including ecological and environmental features, such as where AMP areas are, location of nesting birds, plotted Invasive Weeds and so much more.

Visualising the entire project in such a powerful way benefits everyone involved in the life of a project, from ground-based operatives to our planning departments, through to clients for their own planning purposes, but the main benefit is to allow a more collaborative and efficient working environment, for everyone.
