    Coombes has seen recent significant growth and we are proud to be a Principal Contractor and Framework Contractor to Network Rail.  We are looking for a new Health and Safety Marshal to join our Health & Safety team to support the growth of the business.

    About the vacancy:

    Coombes requires a Health and Safety Marshal, experienced in the rail or construction industry, to play an active role in our busy Health & Safety team, on a full time, permanent basis to grow with the Company. 

    The successful applicant will visit sites across south-central England, ensuring site safety. You will design, review, implement and evaluate a range of documented plans and on-site measures to ensure the highest standards of health and safety are achieved and maintained. 

    The role will require you to be a self-motivated team member, experienced in carrying out site inspections, risk assessments and audits.  As Health and Safety Marshal, you will assess hazardous situations, ensure compliance and help to embed a strong Health & Safety culture in the workplace. 

    Building excellent working relationships at all levels, you will participate in and advise at planning meetings and frequently report on KPI’s.  

    As well as sharing the ethos and values of our Company, candidates should have the following:

    • NEBOSH, or working toward
    • CSCS/CPCS/PTS
    • Good working knowledge of COSHH/PUWER/LOLER
    • Experience of producing Risk Assessments

    Whilst this role will be based at our head office in Petersfield, you will be required to frequently visit sites across south-central England. The successful candidate must therefore have a full driving licence. 

     

    Salary:  £28-32,000 DOE

    Working hours:   40 hours per week, to be worked Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm with 1hr unpaid break. This role will require some out of hours working.

    About the vacancy:

    Coombes requires a GIS Analyst to support our busy team, supply chain and our clients on a full time, permanent basis, to grow with the Company.  The successful applicant will be responsible for mapping on our HS2, Network Rail and Forestry sites, creating high-quality cartographic maps. They will also be accountable for data development and visualisation.

    This role involves the collection, management and analysis of spatial data, as well as undertaking BIM data conversions. You will analyse spatial data using ESRI mapping software and geoprocessing tools, as well as creating data to support business processes and applications. It’s key therefore that candidates have a good understanding of GIS and its practical application.

    As well as sharing the ethos and values of our Company, previous experience in a similar role is essential, with proven knowledge and abilities in ERSI ArcGIS Pro, ERSI ArcGIS Online/Portal for ArcGIS and ERSI Mobile application.  A Degree, or similar, in a GIS or earth sciences subject is desirable. 

    You will be required to travel to various sites across the south-central area of England and in particular our site office near Aylesbury and our head office in Petersfield, Hampshire. The successful candidate must therefore have a full driving licence.

  • Marketing Manager

    Coombes requires a hands-on Marketing Manager to be responsible for the design and delivery of all marketing campaigns and activities that support the objectives and growth of the Company.  This is a new role created to develop brand awareness and engagement within our industries, across multiple communication channels.

    As well as maintaining and improving the professional and progressive image of Coombes, you will ensure creative development of our digital marketing and social media marketing.  You will implement activities across SEO/PPC, monitoring and reporting on marketing metrics and KPI’s. You will work autonomously in this generalist role and so the ideal candidate will be multi-skilled, with proven ability in graphic design, digital marketing and copywriting.

    Whilst this role will be primarily based in Petersfield, you will be required to produce client case studies which focus on our sites across the south-central area of England.  The successful candidate must therefore have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. 

    Experience in or knowledge of the forestry/rails/civils industry would be beneficial, but Coombes is committed to providing training and professional development to colleagues who reflect the ethos and values of our Company.  

    Salary: £30-35,000 p.a. DOE

    Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, to be worked Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm with 30mins unpaid break each day.

  • Machine Operative

    Experience is essential in these roles and ideally you will have the relevant certification such as FMOCs and CPCS. Driver and the ability to work well on your own as well as part of a team is a must.

  • Team Leader

    We are able to offer team leader roles for candidates who have a proven track record with several years experience and have a broad range of competencies, driver essential.

  • Climbers

    Apply

    We have roles for both new and experienced climbers but must have the relevant certification.
